About

Hi, I’m Amy and I’m a Real-Time 3D Designer & XR Developer. I began my career in Industrial Design, I’ve worked in several 3D roles that have included arch-viz, retail interior and experiential & events design, and in 2020 I studied for a Masters degree in Virtual & Extended Realities to expand my real-time 3D design skill set. I’ve gained expertise in virtual architecture, real world 3D capture and XR development, and I’m extremely competent in both traditional and real-time 3D CAD. I’m currently consulting with the University of Bristol, having worked on several successful digital exhibition and XR projects, and I’m open to new freelance or consulting collaborations.

Work

Virtual Architecture

Report investigating the design of future spaces using virtual architecture by considering the role of architects and designers, and the use of immersive technology. A virtual gallery space was created and experiments included 3D scanning, in-VR content creation, and real-time visualisation.

South West Anarchy Research Project

Working with archaeologists from the University of Bristol to create a digital exhibition of a project that centred around 1000 years of anarchy. Created using 360 photography, 3D scanning and 3D modelling with outputs in the form of PC, online and XR.

Brewhouse Office Interactive

Office interior design converted into an interactive VR experience made with Unity. Used to evaluate the URP render workflow in Unity. Once converted the files were separated into a PCVR ready format that can be run directly over the Oculus link, Mobile VR format via .apk and an Interactive format deployable via Windows .exe.

Digital Scholarship

The Uncertain Space is the University of Bristol’s pioneering virtual museum - a museum first and virtual second. Developed in Unity and underpinned by technologies like 3D modelling, photogrammetry, and 3D scanning, the project showcases digital representations of artefacts drawn from across the university’s rich library and special collections.

Mercedes-Benz World Visualisation

Interior spaces were modelled from site survey photography and CAD plans, and were used to determine positions for graphic comms. The 3ds Max model was later imported into Twinmotion to create the background environment and video flythrough before testing in VR then was converted to Unreal for the addition of real-time interactive elements.

STUDIOTEC VR

3D reconstruction and Unreal VR experience to allow users to step into the cinema to see how some of the most well-known films of the 1930-60s were made in film studios of the time, and discover how the architecture; creativity; politics & economics; and labour relations differed in each country

The Royal Mint Experiential

Concept store to showcase The Royal Mint coin portfolio and features illuminated displays, interactive tables, a gift shop, and VIP area. The original concept was created and rendered in 3ds Max then was reworked into a real-time walkthrough initially using UE4.26 with the V-Ray plugin then UE5.

Post Graduate Virtual Tours

Creation of interactive virtual tours for the University of Bristol’s library spaces, using the Trimble X9 LiDAR scanner to capture highly accurate spatial data. The raw point clouds were processed and optimised into navigable 3D environments, enabling users to explore the spaces remotely.

EauZone CGI

Photo-realisitc CGI bathroom sets 3D modelled and rendered in 3ds Max & Unreal for the Matki EauZone catalogue.

POS Solutions for Various Clients

POS solutions completed for Heritage Bathrooms, LG Electronics, Mars, Mattel, Onyko, Oregon Scientific, Phillips, Warner Bros, and Worx.

Finzels Reach 360 Tour

Office interior design converted into an immersive walkthrough and 360 tour, created with 3ds Max, Panotour & Unity.

Bristol Light Festival 360 Filming

In February 2020 Bristol launched its first light festival - an illuminating and playful celebration of the city - and I went along to film in 360. Shots were taken in Castle Park of Pink Enchantment, in Queens Square of Wave-field, in Millennium Square of Frame Perspective; and were uploaded to WebVR.

Exhibition Stands for Various Clients

Exhibition stands completed for clients such as: Babcock, Bentley, Caple, Carbo, Castrol, Eli Lilly, French Connection, Imerys, Major League Baseball, Rolls Royce, Tellabs and The Royal Mint.

The Art of Shadows VR

The participant is cast as a great storyteller who wishes to learn the ancient traditions of hand shadow puppetry using their own hands in a multisensory magical realm. A working prototype was developed in conjuction with Ultraleap utilising their software kit by combining visual, audio and haptics.

Mattel Hot Wheels Roadshows

Annual roadshows for ‘Team Hot Wheels’, ‘Zoom & Boom’, ‘The Epic Race’, and ‘Make It Epic’ campaigns.

AR Product Demonstrator

AR demo that explains the benefits of friction modifiers in transmission fluid and the protection level of a component through its lifecycle. By using a mobile device, the user is able to place a 3D model of a friction clutch onto a surface and interact with the plunger to increase the mileage.
