Reality Starts Here...

Building Fictional Futures to Change the World talk at the University of Bristol by Alex McDowell. The way stories are told is changing - rate unprecedented in history. The world is fluid; it is designed to listen, create and provoke change. To make sense of it collaborations are required e.g. art:science, to make it work new languages will be created and to make it understandable a story system will need to be adopted. Science fiction has become future reality, anything we can imagine we can create - a powerful tool for immersive content creation. VR storyboards will need to explore Scale, Time, Relationship, Point of View. Insightful talk and inspirational examples from the film Minority Report that successfully predicted future technologies, a bio molecular cell learning experience created in Bird Wing VR and a World Building manifesto from Experimental Design.
